| Week long computer workshop inaugurated at Parade College | | | Jammu / Aug 29, 2006 A weeklong workshop on computer assembling and networking was inaugurated at women college Parade here today. Prof. Devanand Padha, HoD Computer sciences Jammu University (JU) was the chief guest on the occasion and Prof. Indira Rathore, principal Parade College presided over the function. The workshop was inaugurated with the lightening of the traditional lamp by the chief guest and the college principal. Computer science Department of Parade College organized this workshop in collaboration with GIIT Janipur. GIIT is providing the expert service on the subject matter during this weeklong workshop. Kumar Krishan, a computer expert from GIIT elaborated upon the schedule of this seven-day programme. Speaking on the occasion, Prof Devanand emphasized on the need to hold more such workshops so as to make student aware of the latest advancements in the field of computer. He also appreciated the college management and GIIT for coming out with this unique idea of imparting this kind of knowledge to female students within the college premises. A large number of students are expected to benefit out of it. Prof. Indira S Rathore also appreciated the efforts of computer sciences department in conducting this workshop. She also said that more such workshops will be conducted in this academic session to impart best possible exposure of advance technologies to the students. Parshottam Bhardwaj (Director, GIIT) was also present on the occasion. Meanwhile, Vote of thanks was presented by Praveen Singh, HoD computer sciences Parade College.
