| Model Academy students, faculty felicitated | | | Early Times Reporter

In a small but impressive function the management of Model Academy B.C. Road, Jammu, organized its annual prize distribution function to honor the meritorious students who had excelled in the annual examinations, the results for which were declared recently.
Dr. Arun K. Gupta Director MIER was the Chief Guest on this occasion and Dr. Renu Gupta Jt. Director MIER was the Guest of honour. Other dignitaries who were present in the function included Dr. Adit Gupta Joint Director and Principal Model Academy, Prof. S. Sapru Registrar, Rupa Gupta Principal (RR Wing), Dr. Surinder Kour Co-MR and. Usha Gadoo, Vice Principal. The parents of the meritorious students who were being awarded were also present along with faculty members of the school.
Dr. Adit Gupta in his welcome address informed that in the annual results declared recently, all the students of Model Academy performed exceedingly well and even improved upon their pervious record by showing 100% result in all the classes from 1st to 9th. He very emotionally disclosed that students in the 8th class DIET examination bagged 6 positions in Jammu District. He also threw light on the new developments taking place in the school for the benefit of students like new computer lab, language lab, French classes, SMS service for parents and Technology supported classes etc.
The Chief Guest Dr. Arun K. Gupta accompanied by Dr. Renu Gupta, Dr. Adit Gupta and . Rupa Gupta gave prizes to all the students who had secured positions in annual examinations during 2007-08 session, in the presence of their parents amidst loud cheers. The young achievers were full of enthusiasm while receiving the prizes. At the same time, the faculty members who made outstanding efforts in the performance of their professional duties were also honoured.
Dr. Arun K. Gupta in his address proudly mentioned that MIER during its chequered history of more than seven decades has produced a large number of alumni who have held key posts in various fields in the country. He also said that model Academy is the only school in Jammu which has been certified according to ISO 9001-2000 standards for the last 4 years. He reiterated the determination of the Management of MIER to make the school one of the best Centres of learning. He praised the students who by the dint of their hard work got high positions and fulfilled the expectations of their parents and also brought laurels to their school. He also appreciated the role of the parents for giving full cooperation to the school management. He further thanked the Principal and other teaching staff for serving this institute with full dedication.
The students presented a colourful programme which was enjoyed by all the guests and others who were present in the function.
Rupa Gupta presented a vote of thanks while Ms. Aditi Sawhney compered the programme. |
