| Coalition discriminating with Poonch: Aijaz Jan | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Apr 30 The miseries of the common people have increased many fold since the present coalition government has taken over. Hike in prices of essential commodities and the alarming rise in unemployment speaks volumes about the claims of the present dispensation, said Aijaz Jan, Provincial Secretary Youth National Conference, Jammu Province in a press statement issued here today. Aijaz Jan alleged that state government has adopted discriminatory attitude with the Poonch District in every sphere and said that the people of this far flung area are suffering badly due to the callous attitude of the present regime. "The people of this district are not even provided with the basic essentialities" he said adding there is no electricity in the far flung areas of the district and moreover, the food grains and ration is also not available in the Godowns. "Government should immediately restore electricity in the far flung villages of the district as it will be very difficult for the people of these areas to bear the heat in the coming months without electricity" he demanded. Alleging discrimination by the Social Welfare Department in the posts advertised for the district. NC Youth Provincial Secretary impressed upon the state government not adopt discriminatory attitude with the people of Poonch district. Aijaz Jan also demanded payment of compensation to the family of those whose houses have been damaged due to lightening. |
