| Heritage school celebrates “Van Mahotsava” | | | Jammu / Aug 29, 2006 To highlight the importance of trees and their conservation students of Heritage School today celebrated “Van Mahotsava” in the school campus here this morning. Upendra Pachnanda, Regional Director, Department of forestry was the chief guest and J B Singh; DFO was the guest of honour on the occasion. On the occasion, saplings were planted by the young heritageans in the school campus. Visiting dignitaries along with the board trustees of the school also planted a sapling each. Speaking on the occasion, Pachnanda highlighted the need to celebrate the occasion. He also appreciated the efforts of the school management for organizing such an event to create awareness amongst young students regarding the forest conservation. Meanwhile, students also presented their views on forest conservation and the importance of celebrating “Van Mahotsava” followed by a small programme in which children shared their concerns for environment. Momentos were also presented to the guests by the school chairperson. Principal B N Sarkar gave the vote of thanks.
