| BJP dispatches relief to Unagie fire victims | | | Early Times Reporte Jammu | Apr 30 BJP State President Ashok Khajuria today morning dispatched a truck carrying 18 quintals of atta for distribution among 32 families of village Ungaie in Kishtwar district whose houses were totally turned into ashes in the devastating fire that broke out on the intervening night of April 27-28. Reacting to the much publicized cash relief and free ration by the administration to these affected families, Khajuria said that mere relief of rupees 25,000 cannot meet the expenses to construct house as the prices of construction material are very high. Even a single room can not be constructed in such a small amount. He said the government should not discriminate while providing relief to the victims. He demanded relief on the same pattern as was distributed to the fire accident case in Warwan area some time ago, wherein the affected families were not only compensated by offering jobs but also construction of damaged houses was done at the expenses of the government. Meanwhile, addressing a booth level Karyakarta Sammelan at Sunderbani, Ashok Khajuria took the Congress-led coalition in the state to task for not mitigating the sufferings of the farmers of the area. He said, like other parts of Jammu region, the highly educated youth of Sunderbani and Nowshera too are sitting idle in absence of adequate employment avenues. He said the price rise has badly hit the lives of people. The situation has reached to such an extent that a common man can not manage even two times meal for the family. A common man can not think of constructing houses or any other structure as the prices of bricks, cement and steel too have gone up manifold. Khajuria asked the people to not trust the Congress and PDP any more. Both these parties and their leaders, instead of raising the people-related issues, are raking up such issues which are aimed at pleasing those promoting the cause of Pakistan in India. He said it is the BJP only which has been fighting for the mitigation of the sufferings of the people. He urged the people to vote in favour of the BJP in the coming elections so that a people and nation-centric government are installed in the state. Former Union Minister Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta, party MLA Jugal Kishore Sharma, State Gen. Secretary (Org.) Ajay Jamwal, former MLA Ch. Piara Singh, Prabhari Sunderwani-Nowshera Vishwinder Dev Sharma, District President Capt. Ramesh Lal, Members of State Working Committee Pt. Gian Chand and Bawa Sharma and BJYM Mandal President Sanjiv Gupta were prominent among those who also addressed the sammelan. |
