Selection process to pick up the deserving young sportspersons for Day-Boarding scheme of Sports Authority of India (SAI) completed today with the conduct of screening test in three disciplines of Football, Basketball and Volleyball at Gymnasium Hall of the University of Jammu, here.
As many as 43 boys and girls have been recommended for the final approval from the SAI Directorate by the Regional Director (North), S S Roy, who supervised the screening conducted this morning. Assistant Director Sports Training Centre (STC) Udhampur accompanied the Regional Director in the screening.
Football, wherein a highest number of 80 boys turned up for the trails, 21 named were recommended for the final approval. The committee that selected the boys included Mohinder Verma and Satish Sharma.
In Basketball, 16 boys and seven girls have been recommended for the Day Boarding scheme. The selections were made by penal of selectors comprised of Chander Parkash (Chandigarh), Amarjeet Singh, Aman Sharma and Rajinder Magotra.
Conducted at border village of Pallanwala, 13 boys have been selected for Volleyball by the team which comprised Gurmesh Singh (Kurukshetra), Parminder Singh Saini (SAI coach), Rajeev Dogra (STC Udhampur).
FOTBALL: Sourav Jangral, Rahul Kumar, Nirdosh Sagotra, Pardeep Sharma, Manmeet Singh, Raman Kumar, Rohit Kalsotra, Nishad Ali, Dimple Bhagat, Ranjit Bahadur Thapa, Sachin Verma, Gourav Bahadur Thapa, Suraj Kumar Gupta, Sunil Bhagat, Vikas Sodhi, Pranav Bandral, Gourav Gupta, Karan Sharma, Rahul Kumar, Bhanu Kumar and Vishal Heer.
VOLLEYBALL: Monu Singh, Vishwanath, Mohan Lal, Sumit Singh, Vikram Singh, Ashwani Kumar, Deepak Singh, Bhakhtawar Singh, Avinash Singh, Narinder Singh, Deepak Singh, Vicky Kumar and Amarjit Singh.
BASKETBALL BOYS: Sunil Yadav, Mohit Singh, Sahil-Bin-Tariq, Paramveer Singh, Karan Vijay Singh, Abhishek Verma, Sahil Bakshi, Anoop Khajuria, Siddhartha Rana Gupte, Subir Rana Gupte, Parveen Singh, Aniket Singh, Aman Gupta, Nipun Sharma and Sourav Dogra.
BASKETBALL GIRLS: Diksha Nehru, Akriti Sharma, Diksha Gupta, Radhika Choudhary, Lakshmi Mehra, Megha Dubey and Shveta Charak. |
