JK Lawyers’ Forum in a meeting held today has called the recent announced Kashmiri Pandits’ migrant package an illusive one which is nothing but an election stunt to gain votes elsewhere
The forum has expressed reservations about the package as it does not elaborate rehabilitation ,lively hood plans and puts one class of refugees against the other when all the refugees either from POK ,west Pakistan and other regions of Jammu have been facing after effects of the same tragedy
The forum has expressed that 50,000 registered kashmiri migrant families can not be rehabilitated by a few drops in the ocean and the package is meaningless on the face of it as it is not sufficient for the purpose
The forum has asked the authorities to spell out the plans as to how they intend to rehabilitate those who want to return and what lively hood provisions will be available to them.
The forum has said that speeches can not take back a community which has lost its all in the valley and more so when the valley is yet to become a peaceful valley for the kashmiri migrants.
The forum has demanded that the migrants need to be taken back to their own villages, towns and cities and infrastructure needs to be developed in the first instance for that.
The forum has also demanded that the lands of the Kashmiri migrants need to be given back to them which has been taken over by some anti social elements in the valley and they also demanded that confidence building measures need to be developed between the people.
Those who participated in the meeting included advocates Badri Nath Pandita M.K.Raina,.R.K.Raina,B.L.Pandita,K.L.Pandita,R.K.Dulloo,C.J.Dhar,Kashmiri Lal Bhat, ,B.K.Bhat,Ashok Bhat,Rakesh Pandita,,Moti Lal Bakshi,Yogesh Bakshi,O.N.Bhat, and number of other lawyers.
