| Bootlegger held, illicit liquor seized | | |

Jammu, Apr 23: Jammu Police claimed to have arrested a bootlegger with 501 bottles of illicit liquor from his possession.
According to sources, a police party of Police Station Kanachak while on routine patrol duty, stopped a vehicle on way to Gajansoo side for checking, bearing Registration No. JK02CA-5676 at Kalyanpur. The driver was identified as Pankaj Sharma during checking vehicle 501 bottles of illicit liquor (332 bottles of 180 ml and 169 bottles of 250 ml) were recovered from his possession. Case FIR No.52/2019 u/s 48(a) of the Excise Act has been registered at PS Kanachak and investigation started.
Moreover, Police recovered 13 ltrs of illicit liquor meant for sale and distribution recovered from the possession of a bootlegger in Bishnah. Case FIR no. 51/2019 U/s 48(a)/50(f) of Excise Act has been registered at PS Bishnah. |
