Govt hell bent to acquire migrant property in Kashmir: Minority Forum

Jammu | May 2
Jammu and Kashmir Minority Forum has alleged that governmental agencies are bent upon to acquire migrant property in Kashmir Valley despite the assurances by the Prime Minister and the State Chief Minister that no migrant property shall be acquired by the state government.
In an emergent meeting held under the chairmanship of its President Ravinder Kaul, the Forum alleged that the government has acquired land at village Kolpur Verinag Anantnag belonging to Moti Lal Koul and others which runs contrary to the assurances.
The meeting felt that while on the one hand government is planning return of Kashmiri migrants to the Valley, on the other it is itself violating the law by illegally acquiring the migrant property. Government being the custodian of the migrant property in Kashmir is itself violating the law prescribed for the purpose.
It was revealed at the meeting that the affected families are presently camping in the village to get back the possession restored to them of the land which has been acquired by the government arbitrarily.
The Forum warned to go on fast unto death if the government fails to vacate the possession of the land and restored back to the land owner.
