| Mayor inaugurates computer institute | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 2 Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Kavinder Gupta, today inaugurated STIC Infotech Computer Institute here at Janipur Colony. Speaking on the occasion, Kavinder Gupta said that Information Technology has assumed much importanceowing to the fact that IT has opened new vistas in the field of employment and career avenues. Acknowledging the role of Computer in present time, Gupta said that “Computer education is must to prepare the future generation to meet new challenges”. “For the sustainable development of the students, the knowledge of computer is the basic requirement, who actually initiate the progress and has opened the opportunity to the youth generation in IT sector”, he added. “With the opening of more and more computer institutes, the Jammu is becoming a cosmopolitan city”, Gupta said and hoped that latest information technology would bring rapid change in sphere of life. “We are in the 21st century and without equipping with latest technology it was difficult rather impossible for us to compete with the world”, said JMC Mayor. Congratulating the Centre Director for opening Computer centre, he said that in this particular area of Janipur Colony which is somehow far from city needs the opening of such institute and hoped that they will impart good and quality education to students so that students touches new height in this field. Yashwant Parihar, MD of the STIC InfoTech Computer Institute informed on the occasion that ‘we have opened 15th branch in Jammu and Kashmir and 4th in Jammu city. He said that STIC InfoTech provides basics of IT, E-Accounting, multimedia programme and even we have introduced new course on retail program, management and students who enroll will get 6 month, 1 year diploma and certificates in short term courses’. Sonalika Gupta, Centre Director of the branch said that Centre will follow a unique modular structure that is based on concepts, tool and practical which ensures a lifetime of learning and self-exploring for the students. She pleaded for providing good and quality computer education so that they can excel in IT industry in the world. Among others present at inaugural occasion were Balbir Ram, Ravinder Gupta, Harjeet Singh Baggi, Sanjeev Kumar, Satish Mahajan and Vinod Gupta. |
