| KU releases Danish 2008 | | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | May 2 The 25th volume of the annual Persian journal Danish, published by the Post Graduate Department of Persian was released at Kashmir University today. Prof Riyaz Punjabi Vice Chancellor Kashmir University, who is also the patron of the journal, expressed happiness over the release of the new volume of Danish and said that he has over the years been studying this ‘serious literary journal’ and found it the best means of expression for researchers , teachers and lovers of Persian language and literature. In his message Vice Chancellor said that it is heartening that Danish has already been recognized as a reference journal. He said that from the historical perspective Iran has made a great influence on our civilization and culture. He said Persian language and literature has left impressions on our own language and expression. Referring to Ghani Kashmiri and Birbal Kachroo, sons of the soil, VC said that they have attained eternal fame for their contribution to Persian poetry and literature. Congratulating Prof M M Masoodi, head of the Persian department and Chief Editor of the journal and his team for keeping this flame alive over the years, Prof Punjabi hoped that Danish will go a long way in nurturing literary and cultural values of Kashmir and help in the development and growth of Persian language and literature. Describing Research Journal Danish as a reviewing memory of Persian treasure since medieval period till now Prof Masoodi hoped that the new volume will be well taken by the students and scholars of Persian language and literature. |
