The Annual Plan for 2008-09 of Kathua district have been approved at Rs. 42.23 Crore with Rs. 36.14 Crore as capital component including Rs. 22.44 Crore as loan component from NABARD, central assistance etc. The capital component for 2007-08 was Rs. 30.83 Crore.
This was disclosed by Chairman District Development Board Kathua and Minister for Health and Medical Education Pt. Mangat Ram Sharma. He urged upon the officers to strive hard to implement the plan proposals without deviations and with due consultation of the local elected representatives. Inter- departmental coordination is imperative for the early completion of the major projects as they require the NOCs from various departments, he maintained.
The Minister enjoined upon the forest authorities to accord early clearance to the executing agencies so that the ambitious road projects in the hilly areas can be completed at the earliest. He also recommended an additionality of Rs. 10 crore as proposed by the MLAs to meet expenditure on account of MLAs proposals.
While replying to the quarries of MP Ch. Lal Singh, Mr. Sharma constituted a committee of officers to speedily finalize the site for the construction of University Campus at Kathua so that the students may not suffer any more. He also issued instructions for the repair of Border roads at the earliest

Lal Singh, MLA, Billawar, Dr. Manohar lal Sharma, MLA, Bani, Mr. Prem Sagar Aziz,MLA, Hiranagar, Mr. Girdhari lal, MLA, Basohli, Smt. Kanta Andotra, senior bureaucrats, Heads of various departments, Presidents of MCs and district officers were present in the meeting.
Earlier, the District Development Commissioner Kathua Ms. Sarita Chauhan informed that the Annual Plan 2007-08 was originally approved with an allocation of Rs. 4446.27 lakhs, out of which Rs. 1363.01 lakhs was Revenue component and Rs. 3083.26 lakhs was capital component (inclusive of Rs. 1629.85 lakhs loan Assistance). The allocation for 2007-08 was revised to Rs. 4939.65 lakhs, out of which Rs. 3637.39 lakhs was capital component and Rs. 1332.26 lakh was Revenue component. Against this revised allocation of Rs. 4939.65 lakhs, an amount of Rs. 4279.88 lakhs was available under the district plan including capital component of Rs. 2977.62 lakhs. An expenditure of Rs. 2762.47 lakhs was incurred ending 03/2008 i.e. 94% of total availability. Out of Rs. 2977.62 lakh capital component made available, an expenditure of Rs. 2762.47 lakhs was incurred ending 3/2008 i.e. 93% capital availability. |
