New Delhi April 26,
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's movable assets have grown by 52 per cent between 2014 and 2019, shows his affidavit filed on Friday in Varanasi. The affidavit was filed as part of the nomination papers that PM Narendra Modi submitted in Varanasi, the seat from where he is contesting the 2019 Lok Sabha election. Much of his movable assets come in the form of fixed deposits worth Rs 1.27 crore in the State Bank of India.

In the affidavit, Narendra Modi has stated that he has total assets worth Rs 2.51 crore. His movable assets are worth Rs 1,41,36,119 (Rs 1.41 crore) and unmovable assets are estimated to be worth Rs 1.10 crore.

PM Modi's movable assets have seen a rise of 114.15 per cent in comparison to the assets he owned in 2014 when he contested his first Lok Sabha election. In 2014, Modi had movable assets worth Rs 65,91,582 (Rs 65.91 lakh).

His primary source of income is his government salary and interest earned on his savings.

PM Narendra Modi's affidavit for the 2019 Lok Sabha election states that he does not face any criminal charge against him.

Wealth mentioned in the election affidavits are classified in three categories: movable assets, unmovable assets and liabilities.

Modi's movable assets:

Narendra Modi has mentioned that as on March 31, 2019, he had Rs 38,750 as cash in hand. Modi's bank balance, the affidavit says, is Rs 4,143, but he has Rs 1,27,81,574 (Rs 1.27 core) as fixed deposits in the State Bank of India.

In 2014, Modi had Rs 32,700 as cash in hand, a bank balance of Rs 26.05 lakh and fixed deposits worth Rs 32.48 lakh.

The affidavit for 2019 Lok Sabha election states that Narendra Modi has investments worth Rs 20,000 (bonds of L&T Infrastructure). The prime minister has savings worth Rs 7,61,466 (Rs 7.61 lakh) in the form of National Savings Certificates and Rs 1,90,347 (Rs 1.90 lakh) as life insurance.

PM Narendra Modi also owns four gold rings (45 grams in weight) that have a valuation of Rs 1,13,800 (as on March 31, 2019). In 2014, valuation of these gold rings was Rs 1.35 lakh (approx).

Unmovable assets:

The total market value of Narendra Modi's unmovable assets is valued at Rs 1,10,00,000 (Rs 1.10 crore) approximately. This is an increase of Rs 10 lakh in comparison to the declarations made by him in 2014.

According to the affidavit, PM Narendra Modi owns a house (1/4 ownership) in Sector 1 Gandhinagar.
