| FIVE HOUR LONG POWER FAILURE ADD TO PERSPIRATION AMIDST SULTRY WEATHER CONDITIONS | | | Jammu, July 06 Hot and humid weather conditions coupled with more than five hour long power cut made life miserable for Jammuties on Thursday afternoon.
The day began on a sultry note and later as power went off around 10.00 a.m following technical snag in the Narwal based power station, miseries of people were compounded further.
Small children, housewives and office goers were the worst sufferers in the absence of the power supply.
The situation in hospital wards, offices and other public places was not too good either.
At several palces in the old city area people were deeply engrossed in discussing poor power scenario in the state.
Sources said at least four jumpers on Jammu-Sarna 132 KV line had tripped and PDD employees struggled hard for about four hours to restore the power supply.
The power supply remained off till 3.00 p.m and was partially restored in Jammu city area after 3.00 p.m. Later in the day more unscheduled power cuts followed through out the day.
The situation was pathetic in old city and surrounding areas in the city.
During power cut only essential supplies were fed from the parallel line,sources said maintaining that over load on the 132 KV Jammu-Sarna line had caused technical snag leading to power failure.
