Mysterious death case solved, two accused held

Srinagar Police has claimed to have solved the case of mysterious death of one Basharat Ahmad alias Raja Kala, son of Mohammad Maqbool Khan, resident of Gali No. 7, Firdous Abad Batmaloo, driver by profession, within 14 hours and arrested the two accused persons.
This was stated by SSP Srinagar S.A. Mujtaba at a press Conference here this afternoon. He said that the accused persons have been identified as Imran Khan alias Gork, son of Ghulam Nabi Khan, resident of Ziyarat Batmaloo a mechanic by profession and Mohammad Sadiq Parray, son of Ghulam Ahmad Parray, resident of Haft Chinar, at present a tenant at Haji Kareem Building, Kawji Adda Batmaloo.
Giving details of the case, SSP said that on Sunday last, the deceased Basharat Ahmad @ Raja Kala returned from Jammu in the evening. He met accused Imran Khan @Ajaz Gurk near Baka Masjid Batmaloo and both of them boarded in an Auto Riksha to purchase liquor from Dalgate.
After purchasing liquor they had a drink and both of them had dinner at General Bus Stand Batmaloo, Srinagar. Soon after dinner, both of them went to the room of accused number two namely Mohammad Sadiq Parray at Kareem Bhat Building Kawji Adda Batmaloo. Deceased intended to have more drink in the room of Mohammad Sadiq and wanted to sodomise accused number one namely Imran Khan @ Ajad Gurk. On objection by Mohammad Sadiq, all the three entered into a scuffle. Deceased Raja Kala tried to over power both Mohammad Sadiq and Imran. Mohammad Sadiq hit him with an iron rod which hit the deceased on his head and started feeling giddiness. The accused Imran Khan took the advantage of this and hit him on the back side of his head, because of which the deceased fell on ground. He put his right foot on his throat, resulting in the unconsciousness on victim, SSP further said
He added that both of them took unconscious person into the muddy drain. They also concealed the body with some garbage and a piece of jute matting and gunny bag, and thereby concealed the body completely. Later on accused Mohammad Sadiq went to Jammu and returned back only last evening.
On Friday morning some children noticed the body of the deceased in the drain located at Kawji Adda Batmaloo at about 0950 hours. Police Batmaloo reached the spot and took the body in custody, as there was no apparent sign or any violence or injury on the body. Police took the body to Hospital for post mortem and after examination started proceedings under section 174 Cr PC.
In a prompt action, Police Batmaloo, under the supervision of SHO, Mohammad Asgar Bhat got some clues regarding the mysterious death of accused, resulting in solving of the blind murder within 14 hours. Police apprehended both the accused persons and registered a Case FIR No. 37/08 under section 302, 201 RPC for further investigations, he said.
