| Undentified militants kill two civilians | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 3 In what could be termed as a case of revenge killing, unidentified militants struck on late Friday night in Kishtwar district where they gunned down surrendered militant and a PHE employee. Official sources said the militants killed two villagers as they believed that both were active informers and passed relevant information to the security forces about their movement in the area. The villagers killed by militants have been identified as Imtiyaz Ahmed Mir, a former militant and a resident of Kuchal village of Chatroo. After killing Mir, militants attacked house of Public Health Engineering (PHE) employee Bashir Ahmed Hajam and killed him on the spot. Police spokesman said that Imitiaz Ahmed Mir who was earlier arrested by police in 2006 for indulging in militant activities in Nowgam area of Kashmir valley was later released by the Court in February this year. Security forces have launched massive manhunt to hunt to apprehend the militants responsible for the attack in the area, police said. |
