Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 3 Anjali Adhikari of Police Public School bagged Youth-B Girls title while Princy Choudhary of MNDP School, R S Pura clinched the sub-junior girls championship on the opening day of the 8th State Sport Climbing Championship organized by the J&K Mountaineering Association at MNDP School, R S Pura, near here today. In the absence of Shivani Raj Kaith, the national champion and Harjot Singh, a national medalist, Anjali, last year’s North Zone champion, had no difficulty in securing the first place in junior group. Being experienced, both Shivani and Harjot have been made part of the organizing committee of the championship by the Association. Gurmeet Kour and Radha Kumari of St. Vivekanand Public School Raipur Gujran secured second and third place respectively. In the Sub-Junior girls section, Bindiya Sharma of National Academy Udhampur bagged second position while Sakshi and Monika Choudhary of Sevrinary School Chatha shared third place. Earlier, the championship was declared open by Mrs Ruby Sharma, wife of Mr B R Sharma, Chief Electoral Officer, J&K. “In total, 250 climbers representing various districts of Reasi, Udhampur, Samba, Anantnag, Bijbehara, Srinagar, Poonch, Rajouri and Jammu are taking part in the two-day state championship,” said general secretary of the Association, Dr C K Khajuria. |
