Chairman PHDCCI calls on Director Airport Jammu

JAMMU, May 1: Chairman PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry Jammu Region Chapter (PHDCCI) called on Director Airport, Jammu.
Vikrant Kuthiala, Chairman, PHDCCI Jammu Region Chapter along with Kuldeep Gupta, Co-Chair, PHDCCI and Sanjay Gupta called on Dr. Pravat Ranjan Beuria , Airport Director in his office at civil airport, Jammu and presented a memorandum to him.
Chairman apprised Director Airport of the concern being faced by the civil society at large and discussed the issues of Extension of runway at Jammu Airport, Concrete wall on sides of runway, Operation of Night Landing facilities at Jammu Airport, Up-gradation of ILS System at Jammu Airport, Creation of Visitors Car Parking/Pick-up and Drop Off and Creation of 3rd Frisking Point.
Welcoming the announcement of commencement of night landing facilities at Jammu Airport up to 9 PM, PHDCCI look forward to early commencement of the evening flights to and from Jammu Airport. Also as most of the flights are bunched within the hours from 1 p.m to 4 p.m, and leads to long security lines. PHDCCI suggested that in addition to the 2 frisking points for males, another frisking point be made operational for this time period.
Dr. Pravat Ranjan Beuria, Airport Director, along with his entire team gave a persistence hearing and appreciated PHDCCI for raising concerns. He assured that the Infrastructural Development issues shall be addressed and resolved by April 2020. Issues like creation of 3rd frisking point to address the concern of long queue shall be addressed immediately.
Thanking Director Airport, Chairman & Co Chair PHDCCI assured full support and suggested that such interactions should take place regularly so that the issues can be brought to light and addressed.
