| Wailing parents of deceased Romica cry for justice | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 5 Wailing parents of the deceased Romica Sharma, in a passionate appeal to Jammu and Kashmir High Court, has sought death sentence to Sanjeev Sharma s/o K.K. Sharma r/o NITCO Lane Talab Tillo, who allegedly murdered his wife Romica Sharma. While narrating the case the wailing parents of the deceased Romica told Early Times today that the alleged accused Sanjeev Sharma has been demanding more dowry and was instrumental in killing his wife. They said the alleged accused has been torturing his wife on the pretext of bringing more dowry from her parents failing which he would kill her. The parents alleged that accused killed his wife in Nepal in 2003 and a case under section 302, 120 BAPC and 498-A stands registered against him in Police station Nowabad here. Narinder Sharma father of deceased Romica further told the ET that the case was pleaded in the court after which it was transferred to CBI for further investigation. The accused fled to Switzerland and was arrested only when he returned to Jammu to attend marriage function of his maternal uncle. The accused was taken to CJM and court locked him in central jail. The accused has filed an appeal in High Court, which is still pending for disposal Narinder said. Making a passionate appeal to the State High Court authorities, the parents of deceased Romica have expressed the hope that justice would be meted out to them and the guilty awarded death sentence which would be deterrent for those committing heinous crime on the pretext of dowrey. |
