Gurpreet Singh and Shivati Koul won men’s and women’s `Lead Climbing’ titles respectively in the 8th State Sport Climbing Championship which was organized by Mountaineering Association of Jammu and Kashmir at MNDP School, R S Pura, near here.
In Youth-B category, Rajiv Sharma bagged the boys’ trophy while girls’ title went to Anjali Adhikari. Ashish Kapoor and Princy Choudhary shared the titles in sub-junior boys and girls section respectively.
In Speed event, men and women’s titles were secured by Raman Kumar and Bhawna Sharma respectively while Akshit Mahajan and Rohini Chib emerged winners in junior group.
The Youth-A boys Lead and Speed titles were won by Suraj Singh while Akshay Sadotra and Amit Kumar bagged the second and third position respectively.
Director MNDP School, Mr Anil Choudhary was chief guest in the finals and prize distribution function who gave away prizes to winners of different groups. General secretary, Mountaineering Association of J&K, Dr C K Khajuria presented mementos to all the participating district teams.
Dr Sonam Angchuk, Assistant Director Department of Physical Education, University of Jammu, Yogeshwar Kumar, Amit Kumar, Sumit Khajuria, Virender Magotra, O P Padha, Rajinder Sharma, Shawetica Khajuria, Prof Ayub Khan (Principal SOS Hermann Gmeiner School Jammu) and Ashwani Katoch (Principal Amba Kids Home Panthal Reasi) also witnessed the competition.
