Administration withholds salary of CEO Rajouri, another official suspended
5/3/2019 10:53:23 PM
Early Times Report
Rajouri, May 3: District administration Rajouri here has ordered to withhold the salary of chief education officer Rajouri and has placed under suspension an official of Moughla zonal education office.
Action has been initiated by administration as the office of chief education officer failed to furnish the list of officials from Moughla zone who were deployed on election duty ( Panchayat elections) for one month additional salary.
Matter came to fore when complaints were received by district election officer Rajouri in which it was learnt that a large number of education department officials from Moughla education zone of Rajouri have not been mentioned in the list of officials in whose favour one month additional salary has been sanctioned for performing duties in recently held panchayat polls.
During inquiry into the matter, it came to fore that office of zonal education officer Moughla emailed a script to the office of chief education officer on 03-01-2019 in which particulars of officials deployed on panchayat poll duty were forwarded to Chief Education Officer Rajouri who did not bother to submit the same in the office of district election officer.
On 08-03-2019, office of district election officer submitted detailed list of poll duty personnel to the office of chief electoral officer J&K and on 25-04-2019, official communication regarding sanction of one month additional salary was received by the district election officer Rajouri.
However, the blatant omission on part of chief education officer Rajouri and zone education officer Moughla has resulted in depriving the genuinely deployed polling personals of zone Moughla from one month additional salary on time along with other officials who were deputed on election duty.
Taking note of all this, District Election Officer Rajouri, Mohammad Aijaz Asad has ordered to immediately withhold the salary of chief education officer Rajouri, Mohammad Ashraf Rather while an official of Moughla zone, Pawan Kumar is placed under suspension.
Zonal Education Officer Moughla is also asked to explain his position into the matter as he approached the office of district election officer after a period of one and a half month after his joining and taking over charge from previous ZEO who attained superannuation. Meanwhile, District Election office has initiated data compilation for onward submission for one month additional salary of the left out employees from Mougla Zone.
