| Lecture on digital technology in movies delivered | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 6 School of Visual and Performing Arts, Design and Architecture in collaboration with the Department of Student Welfare, Jammu University today organized a lecture on “Digital Technology in Indian Films” by Pushpa Koshal from Avitel Post Studioz. Addressing the younger generation Koushal said that the digital technology has revolutionized the Mumbai film industry. She said that today, a movie screened through the best film projector degrades with each viewing, and moviegoers often see faded prints plagued with flicker, weaving and dust and the real digital experience using DLP Cinema projectors solves these problems and provides a better-than-film quality image on the screen. Stressing younger generation especially from Jammu and Kashmir, Koshal daughter of the soil said that “There is computer graphics and digital technology which provide a great vision to the youth in making career in digital world and even in the film industry”. “Digital technology has changed the whole film industry, for movie-makers, their movies are seen exactly the way they want it with light, shade and texture captured with digital accuracy”, added Koushal. Prof. Nirmal Gupta, director of the School of Visual and Performing Art, Design, and Architecture, University of Jammu threw light on the establishment of the school. Earlier Dr. P.S. Pathania in his welcome address said that a number of informative lectures are at the anvil of department. Prof B P S Seghal, Dean Academic Affair, P S Pathania, DSW and professors, scholars were also present on an occasion. Vote of thanks was presented by Prof N R Sharma, Chairman of the campus cultural committee. |
