SSP Traffic (R) Jammu Mohan Lal Kaith launches spl drive against traffic violators

KATHUA, May 3: In order to ensure hassle free vehicular movement in District Kathua of Traffic Rural Jammu and to implement the Motor Vehicles (MV) Act strictly on ground, SSP Traffic, Rural Jammu Mohan Lal Kaith, accompanied by the DySP Traffic Samba-Kathua, Shri Behari Lal and concerned DTI/SOs(T) today launched a special drive against the violators in the district. During the special drive, 335 Vehicles were challaned under various visible offences like non- wearing of crash helmet, without seat belt, triple riding, over loading in passenger vehicles/load carriers while a fine amounting to Rs 74,800 was realized from the violators. 10 vehicles have also been seized and handed over to the concerned Police stations for further proceedings. Moreover, today 10wrongly parked stickers are also pasted on wrongly parked vehicles in District Kathua by DTI Kathua.
Further, today a total of 242 vehicles were also challaned in District Samba, Rajouri and Poonch of this unit under various sections of MV Act/Rules and a fine amounting to Rs 32300 has been realized from violators. 8 Vehicles have also been seized in these districts. Traffic Police Rural Jammu has also counseled violators particularly parents of minors before imposition of fine.
Mohan Lal Kaith, SSP Traffic Rural Jammu has asked the general public to follow the traffic rules for their own safety. He said that the society as a whole has to participate in this process and to take responsibility for hassle free movement of vehicular traffic.
