| Industrialists demand early completion of 132KV grid station | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 6 Expressing serious concern over the deteriorating power scenario prevailing in Industrial area Gangyal resulting closure of most of the units, the Association of Small Scale Industries Gangyal, at a meeting held under the chairmanship of its President Rajesh Jain, has urged the Chief Minister to direct the Power Development Department to get the 132KV grid station completed on priority basis and in a time bound manner. The meeting expressed its dismay over the inordinate delay in installing 132 KV grid station at Gangyal which was slated to be commission by December 2005. The snail’s pace of progress on this grid station has heavily affected the working of the industrial units in the area as presently the industrial area is fed from Gladani and Bari Brahmana section is pruned to faults and low voltage. Despite assurances by the previous power development commissioner that Rs.1.25 crore would be expended on augmenting the internal system in Gangyal by way of replacing conductors and installation of new transformers, nothing of the sort has happened till date, the meeting observed. The meeting among others was attended by Anil Gupta senior vice president, Bansi Lal Gupta, vice president, Tejwant Singh Reen, general secretary, Pardeep Vaid secretary and Sandeep Ohri,Treasuer. |
