Samba, May 5: Police claimed to have arrested a bovine smugger and rescued over 40 bovines.
Acting on reliable information received at police station Vijaypur about smuggling of bovines from Bishnah by foot through Mansar-Udhampur Road towards Kashmir via Vijaypur, a police party laid a special naka and arrested the accused.
The accused person has been identified as Mohd. Gushi son of Bashi Mohammad a resident of Khojipur, Bishnah. All the 40 cattle were rescued & shifted to safer place.
