Harish Sharma bagged double gold in Javelin Throw and Discuss Throw in the Inter-Department Athletics Meet of the University of Jammu organized by the Department of Physical Education, University of Jammu, here today.
Other two gold medals decided today were shared by Gulzar Ahmed (Shot Put) and Opinder Pal Singh (400 mts race).
“The remaining athletics events shall take place during the second leg of athletics meet in the first week of June. It (second leg of competitions) will be followed by the prize distribution function,” incharge Physical Training Instructor (PTI) Campus, Romesh Sharma told Sports & Allied News.
Meanwhile, the athletics meet in women’s section shall take place tomorrow at University grounds.
Today’s athletics meet was supervised by Incharge BPEd, Department of Physical Education, Dr Brij Baloria and PD Singh. The competitions were officiated by Mulkh Raj, Parveen Kour, Shefali and Gurbachan Singh.

Shot Put: Gulzar Ahmed, Urdu, Ist; Harish Sharma, Physical Education, 2nd and Harvinder Singh, Physical Education, third.
