| Another fratricide: Solider kills colleague in Rajouri | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 6 In another incident of fratricide, a solider allegedly shot dead his senior officer with his service riffle in an army camp at Tain village of Naushera area of Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, this morning. Well informed sources told that Signalman Inderjeet had a tiff with Naib-Subedar Lal Bhadur during the wee hours today over some duty issue at village Train where the duo were posted After a heated exchange of words, the solider Inderjeet open the nozel of this service weapon and shot dead Lal Bhadur. Panic gripped the area as army officials thought it was a militant attack. Reports said that only the two were present in the barrack when the incident occurred. Soon after hearing the gun-shot, army personnel rushed the spot over powered Inderjeet who was later taken into Custody. Defence spokesman Lt Col SD Goswami confirmed that the incident had taken place in Naushera area of Rajouri. He confirmed the incident and said, "Army has ordered a court of inquiry into the matter to ascertain the facts". The body of the 46 year old Naib –Subedar Lal Bhadur was being sent to his native village in Gorakhpur. Meanwhile police has registered a case in this regard and have taken up the investigation. |
