| Anganwadi workers to observe mass casual leave on May 15 | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 7 In support of their demands of hike in salary and against the price rise of the essential commodities, central committee of Anganwadi Workers Welfare Association has decided to observe a mass causal leave on May 15 in front of Div Com. This was declared by Swarana Choudhary, president of the Association and Lakshman Ravinder Singh, president of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh in a joint press conference here today. The Association leaders have demanded hike in salary Rs.5000 to workers and Rs.3000 to helpers, pay TA, teaching allowance, rent, grievance committees under ICDS Scheme, filling of all supervisor post as per seniority list, fuel charges of Rs 300 per month, amend rules which are outdated and others. Swarana Choudhary informed that the state govt of Uttrakhand, Gujrat and other states have increased the salary of workers and helpers and even provident fund and ESI Scheme have introduced by Gujrat Govt. While criticizing the state government, he said that from the past many years, workers are being exploited due to non-serious attitude of the government, which has badly affected the families of workers and helpers, who cannot survive with a meagre honorarium. He stressed upon the State Government to take up the genuine demands of the Anganwadi workers and helpers on priority basis so that workers could be delivered justice at the earliest. |
