| Khajuria expresses solidarity with striking clerical staff | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 7 Expressing solidarity with the striking clerks and teachers, BJP State President, Ashok Khajuria today took the Congress government to task for adopting negative attitude towards the genuine demands of the government employees, including the demand of removal anomalies in the pay structure. He said it is unfortunate that the State Government has allowed the situation to deteriorate by not accepting the demands of the striking employees, who have been on the roads for several days holding demonstrations and blocking traffic on important routes including the Tawi bridge. Khajuria said that the employees are not demanding a moon. They are simply asking the government to regularize the service of the adhoc employees, removal of anomalies in the pay structure and a congenial atmosphere under which they could perform their duties. The BJP Chief said that the on going strike has adversely affected the common people as they have not been able to get their work done. He said an amicable settlement of the issue has become absolutely necessary in view of the hardships which are being faced by the general public, as also in view of the fact that it has become impossible for the employees to meet even the basic requirements of their family members who are virtually on the verge of starvation. Pooh-poohing the Chief Minister’s concept of Khushaal Jammu and Kashmir, the BJP Chief said if this is his concept of Khushaali, then it would be better if he (CM) abandons all the schemes connected with his Khushaali concept. |
