Financial assistance to BPL children

An amount of Rs. 3.21 lakh was provided as financial assistance to children belonging to families living below poverty line and physically challenged during last fiscal in Dooru tehsil.
Of this, 1132 students were provided Rs. 2.69 lakh as pre-matric scholarship, Rs. 46,340 to handicapped children, Rs. 11,300 under Safai Karamchari Scheme to 35 students and Rs. 4,800 to children belonging to other scheduled categories. Besides, 5 deaf children were provided hearing aids.
Similarly, 75 students trained in various trades were provided Rs. 67,500 as stipend. Under ISSS 1195 destitute were provided Rs. 28.68 lakh and Rs. 3.60 lakh provided to 36 persons affected by natural calamities. 11 handicapped persons were provided 11 tricycles under National Family Benefit Scheme.
This was given out in a meeting of concerned officers organized to review the functioning of the Social Welfare department.
