| Top HM commander apprehended | | Arms, ammunition recovered | | Early Times Reporter

Security forces on Saturday claimed to have arrested a District Commander belonging to HM outfit from Aharbal area of Shopian besides having recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition from elsewhere in the valley.
Police sources told that in reaction to a tip off cops of Police and 62 RR during naka on Shopian-Aharbal road apprehended district commander of Hizbul Mujahideen.
The arrested militant is identified as Shabir Ahmad Mir alias Shahid-ul-Islam, son of Abdul Rashid Mir, resident of Jam Nagri Shopian.
One 7.62 mm Pistol, two magazines and seven rounds were recovered from his possession. Police has registered a case in this regard.
Meanwhile security forces recovered cache of arms and ammunition from Darbal Wuyan in Srinagar during a search operation.
The recoveries include one AK 45 rifle, one AK magazine, 30 AK rounds and 14 Kgs Explosive materials were recovered from open fields. Police has registered a case in this regard and has taken up investigations. |
