Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 10 Those who lost lives fighting for Independence to India were remembered by the participants at a function held here today to celebrate 150th anniversary of first war of Independence of 1857. The programme was organized by Freedom Fighters Association in collaboration with BJP. Senior Superintendent of Police Parminder Singh was the chief guest on the occasion. Speaking at the function, Singh appreciated the role of association in organizing the function to remember the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the cause of the nation. While addressing the participants, chairman, FFA, Ved Gandotra urged the people to join hands to fight against the corruption, so that the dreams of the martyrs get fulfilled. Among other who participated were Akbar Ali, Mod Yousf Wani, Rashpal Singh, Dr. Karan, Baldev Raj, Onkar Singh, Subash Bawa, Ashok Sharma, Raj Kumar, Pawan Gandhi and Jagjit Singh. |
