Early Times Report
Jammu, May 12: Activists of Young Panthers (YP) held a protest demonstration against the state government to express their resentment over the dilapidated condition of the land allotted by the JDA for the construction of an indoor stadium at Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu.
The protest was organized by Bhanu Partap Goria (President Jammu West) and Arun Mehra (General Secretary) along with their team in the presence of Partap Singh Jamwal, State Vice President Young Panthers.
Angry YP activists raised slogans against the erstwhile coalition BJP-PDP government and also raised the slogans against the present government and demanded immediate construction of the stadium to promote sports culture in Jammu region. Addressing the gathering, Pratap Singh regretted that the land allotted for the indoor stadium at Bhagwati Nagar has turned into a filthy place where the garbage of the adjacent areas are dumped to cause nuisance to the public health and hygiene. He said that the land was earmarked in 2014 for the stadium but the erstwhile government remained lackadaisical towards encouraging recreational avenues for the local youth. Partap alleged that no body from the BJP including the local ex-MLA bothered to pay any heed upon the miserable plight of the land while in power. The youth of Jammu faced the worst ever discrimination under BJP rule. Besides facing obnoxious bias in employment, the young fraternity was being trapped in drug addiction by the rampant mafia operating in the entire province, he added.
