                    | Mismanagement of traffic on Mughal road Irks commuters | | | M S Nazki Early Times Report
Poonch, May 12: Since the Mughal Road has been thrown open for vehicular movement after five months closure due to heavy snowfall, the mismanagement of traffic has been widely condemned by the commuters. The traffic department been accused of failure to streamline the traffic and issue necessary advisories regarding traffic schedule on this alternate road to Srinagar-Jammu national highway sources said. The commuters alleged that Traffic department gives priority to influential people. They also accused the authorities of negotiating deals with truckers for early passage. They said no advisory, helpline number or any other information regarding the schedule of the traffic was provided to the commuters who get stick on the midway during the journey. People alleged that there was no one to listen to their problem while there should have been some grievance cell system along the road and a helpline to provide upto date information about the movement of traffic. Pertinently District Development commissioners of twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch were urged to sort out the proposal which could ease the journey of people on Mughal road. They were also urged to set up information centres to inform the people about various developments taking place on this road. |
