Cut his tongue off: AIADMK leader on Kamal Haasan's 'first terrorist was Hindu' remark
5/13/2019 8:32:49 PM

Chennai: After the BJP compared MNM chief Kamal Haasan to Hafiz Saeed for his remarks on Nathuram Godse, its ally in Tamil Nadu, AIADMK wants Haasan’s tongue to be severed for making the statement.
Retorting to Kamal Haasan’s ‘first terrorist was Hindu’ remark, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader (AIADMK) KT Rajendra Balaji said the Haasan’s tongue should be cut off.
Haasan while campaigning for his party’s candidate in Tamil Nadu's Aravakurichi ahead of the by elections on the four remaining assembly seats in the state, said Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin Nathuram Godse, “India’s first terrorist was a Hindu” raising a furore.
Reacting to the statement, the AIDMK leader said, “Kamal Haasan's tongue should be cut off for his remarks on Hindu terror. He made these remarks to gain votes of minorities. We can't blame entire community for act of one individual. EC should take action against the actor and ban his party”.
The BJP moved the EC against demanding an action against Haasan alleging that the latter is appeasing minorities to gain votes.
Haasan made the comments in a Muslim-dominated area which irked the BJP. “I'm not saying this because this is a Muslim dominated area. I'm telling this because it's in front of the Gandhi statue. Independent India's first terrorist was a Hindu. His name was Nathuram Godse. It starts from there. I'm Gandhi's great grandson,” Haasan said.

“I'm here to seek justice for that murder. I'll thump my heart and say that I'm a good Indian and any Good Indian will want the country to be peaceful and equal to all. He will always want the tricolours of the national flag to remain the same always” he added.
