Two suspected terrorists arrested along with weapon in Gool

Ramban, May 13: Two suspected terrorists were arrested on Monday in Gool, Ramban district and the development comes a day after two terrorists were gunned down in an encounter with security forces in Shopian district of the state.
As per information, on a piece of specific information regarding suspicious movement of some ANEs in Hara area of Gool, a joint operation was launched by Police Component Gool along with 58 RR and 9 Para at about 3:30 AM. During the process of cordon and search, two suspects were apprehended along with arms and ammunition.
The duo have been identified as Showkat Ahmed Sheikh son of Gulam Nabi Sheikh resident of Charsoo, Awantipora, Pulwama and Taweel Mohiudin Dar son of Ghulam Mohiudin Dar resident of Malipura, Kulgam. One AK-47 assault rifle with ammunition, personal items and cash worth Rs. 8871/ were recovered from their possession.
In this regard a case FIR No 40/2019 under section 121 A, 120 B, 122 RPC 13/17/19 ULA (P) Act has been registered and investigation taken up.
During preliminary investigations, the accused persons have been found affiliated with LET terrorist organisation and were acting on the instructions of one Naveed alias Abu Talla, an active militant of LET.
As per Army's statement, on Monday combined efforts of Indian Army (Rashtriya Rifles) and J&K Police in Gool, Ramban under Counter Insurgency Force Uniform delivered a major setback to terrorist outfit in their efforts to revive terrorism South of Pir Panjal Range.
It further added that both individuals belong to South Kashmir and are in their teens. Sources confirmed that both intended to join a terrorist cadre of Lashkar e Toiba. The timely apprehension of suspected terrorists and recovery of war like stores has thwarted the nefarious design of terrorist organization to spread the "Arc of Terrorism" South of Pir Panjal Range.
