| ‘CCI motivating traders to control prices’ | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 10 President Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Ram Sahai in a communication to Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad, CAPD, minister, Taj Mohi-ud-Din and finance minister T.H. Qarra has expressed CCI’s grave concern over the soaring prices of essential commodities and of other articles, which he said is due to the higher rate of inflation. He said that Chamber is realizing its legitimate duties and is doing everything possible to motivate the trading community for providing full cooperation in maintaining the regular supply line and keeping the price line under maximum control and at the same time Chamber wants government also to take all possible steps to facilitate the control of prices of essential commodities by exempting the import of fresh fruits and vegetables from the levy of toll tax as has been done in case of export of fresh fruits from the state. Chamber urged upon the minister and Chief Secretary to take immediate necessary steps in this regard for issuing the necessary orders for immediate redressal of this burning problem especially during this election year. |
