Vakil asks youth to foil emotional blackmail attempts

Expressing sorrow over the behaviour of certain politicians, building castles over the blood and bodies of about 50,000 youth, made scapegoats for political ends, ending their lives during militancy, Minister for Social Welfare and Senior JKPCC Vice President Mr. Abdul Gani Vakil has said that unfortunately blood of youth was being shed for cheep politics.
Addressing a mammoth youth rally at Zaloora Sopore today, Mr. Vakil asked the youth to understand the hidden agenda of these politicians and foil all attempts at emotional blackmailing for personal ends. "You have to rise to the occasion and deny falling prey in the net, these politicians have laid", Mr. Vakil said.
He said that it was the late Rajiv Gandhi who empowered youth of 18 years age with the right of vote and gave them power to play important role in government formation. He said the youth should channalize their energy positively and take part in the creation of honest and responsible political set up.
He asked them to feel the responsibility they have for steering the ship of state out of tumult water currently constructing strong edifice for bright and secure future of next generation.
Referring to the plight and miseries of orphans and widows of militants killed in combat operations, Mr. Vakil said this needy section of the society was also exploited for political mileage. However, he lauded the Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad who brought this category under the ambit of social welfare scheme for all benefits available to other orphans and widows. "This he said reflects the concern of Mr. Azad and the UPA leadership especially Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh for poor".
The Minister said that government was keen to explore employment avenues for youth of the state.
The meeting was also addressed by Dr. Abdul Ahad Yatoo, Mr. Farooq Andrabi and youth leaders Mohammad Iqbal Jan and Mohammad Altaf Malik.
