DC Anantnag reviews Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2019 arrangements
Stresses for early completion of all arrangements

ANANTNAG, MAY 14: Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Khalid Jahangir today convened a meeting of the officers to review the status of arrangements made for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2019.

The DC emphasized that Yatra track condition is of foremost importance and entire focus should be laid on clearance of the track. He said that necessary restoration works must be completed on priority. The DC was informed that reckie of the entire route up to the Holy cave has been completed and snow clearance has been started and would be completed by 25th May 2019 up to Sheshnag.

The DC directed for maintenance of proper sanitation and cleanliness at base camps and Halt Stations en route to the Holy cave, besides segregation of non-biodegradable component made by using solid waste management.

To improve the drinking water facilities, DC urged to complete the construction of 20000-Gallon capacity filtration plant at Pahalgam. Executive Engineer PHE Division Bijbehara was asked to ensure erection of PSPs by 5th June 2019 at Nunwan Base Camp & Chandanwari.

Executive Engineer R&B Division Khanabal was instructed to carry patchwork of Pahalgam – Chandanwari road on priority.

Superintending Engineer (SE) PDD was directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply at Base Camp & Halt Stations, besides keeping additional Generator Sets in standby mode and ensure installation of lighting systems by 1st week of June 2019.

CMO Anantnag informed the meeting that Medical facilities at 24 stations will remain available 24x7, including doctors, paramedics & essential medicines. The CMO was directed to ensure sufficient number of Oxygen Cylinders, X-Ray & ECGs facilities available at Chandanwari and other stations, besides all medical teams must reach to their stations one week prior to the commencement of the Yatra.

The DC directed for timely registration of Ponnies, Poniwalas, Dandiwalas and Palkiwalas. He stressed to ensure timely permission for pitching of tents, keeping in view the layout plan of each Yatra camp.

ARTO, Anantnag was directed that adequate transport should be made available during the Yatra season so that Yatries do not face any inconvenience.

FCS&CA Department was directed to keep sufficient stocks of rice, Atta, sugar, K.Oil & LPG available at all stations en route to the Holy cave.

The DC directed Dy. Director Fire & Emergency Services Anantnag to impart orientation training regarding fire fighting and other safety measures to Langarwalas & other service providers.

DM BSNL was directed to ensure hustle free telecommunication services to the Yatries. The DC was informed that 3G Services & Hotspot services shall be made available to the Yatries.

It was given out that Joint Control Room & Emergency Operation Centres shall be made operational one week before the commencement of the Yatra. Further, Mountain Rescue Teams shall remain available at seven locations from Chandanwari to Holy cave.

The DC urged the officers to work with added zeal and in complete coordination to ensure smooth conduct of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2019.

The meeting was attended by SP Headquarters, ADC Anantnag, CEO PDA, SDM Pahalgam, SE PDD, CMO Anantnag, Xens of R&B, PHE, PMGSY, EOs of MC Pahalgam & Ashmuqam and other district officers.
