| SP expresses concern over loss of lives in road accident | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 11 The senior members of Samajwadi party (SP) have expressed their grave concern over the accidents occurring on Doda- Kishtwar road. Addressing the party workers the state chief of SP, Sheikh Abdul Rehman said the administration is not taking any concrete steps to minimize accidents on this route. He said violation of traffic regulation is the main cause of the accidents, as traffic cops are not taking any steps against the traffic violators. Beside condition of these roads is not traffic worthy, he said and added that vehicles plying on the road are always found over loaded and are old. Rehman further said that some people from Kishtwar complained that their injured relations are not being given proper treatment in Jammu Medical College as a result the purpose of their referring to the medical college Jammu is not being served. Taking serious note in this behalf, he said that such a tendency on the part of doctors and staff of the medical college is deplorable and stigma on the civilized society. The participants at the meeting also demanded adequate amount of compensation to the next of kins of those who got killed in these unfortunate accidents and cash relief and free medical treatment to the injured. Members also condoled the sad demise of Kalyan Kotwal W/o D.K. Kotwal, Sr. BJP leader and observed minutes silence and prayed to the almighty to grant peaceto the departed soul in heaven and strength to the surviving members to bear this irreparable of theirs. The meeting also condoled the death of Zafar Iqbal Khan S/o Abdul Mazid, low paid employees association leader and Sh. Rajinder Shan in different road accidents and prayed to god to bestow peace to their souls in heaven. |
