| Milk chilling centre launched | | | Early Times Reporter

J&K dairy producers and marketing coop union in a joint venture with Surya Vaid Products launched its first 5000 liter capacity of milk chilling center at Kot Punna in district Kathua today. The chilling center was inaugurated by MP. Lal Singh in the presence of members of Doodhi gujjar community from adjoining border villages of Kathua. While addressing he said that people living in the urban areas should be thankful to the Doodhi Gujjar Community who is sole main stock of milk production in the state, despite their old tradition of raising cattle for milk and milk producers. He further said that unemployed youth from villages should come forward and take advantage of various scheme offered by JKDCUL and government in dairy industries.
Satish Gupta of Surya Milk on the occasion said that it is due to efforts of Ch. Lal Singh and of Register coop Societies, Dr. G.N Qasba that such a chilling center has come up. He said that in future more than 30 more bulk coolers of 2000-5000 liter capacity will be installed in milk producing areas of districts Kathua and Jammu,.
Chairman JKDCUL Jamil Chowdhary said that opening of chilling centre is just the beginning of good day for Doodhi Gujjars and their cooperative union stands committed to serve milk producers. He also checked for MPs help in fixation of judicious rate of milk from J&K government. Vikrant Dogra of JKDCUL presented vote of thanks and thanked Choudhary Lal Singh, Ch. Ali Mohd, Rajinder Singh and various sarpanches who attended the function. |
