| Rs. 9.59 cr for 8 road projects in Nagrota constituency | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 11 R&B department is implementing eight road projects worth 19.50 kms at an estimated cost of Rs. 9.59 crores in Nagrota Constituency. This was stated by Minister for Roads and Buildings Mr. Jugal Kishore Sharma at a largely attended public meeting at Manwal in Dansal Block on Sunday. This would improve the interior connectivity of this region suffering economic and development backwardness due to lackluster policies of previous regimes, he affirmed. Ex. MLA Nagrota Constituency Thakur Shiv Dev Singh, President Block President Dansal, Panch, Sarpanch, SEs, XENs and other senior officers of the concerned department were also present on the occasion. Elucidating the ongoing road projects in the region, the Minister informed that Rs. 412.52 lakh is being spent on 6 Km Panjgrain- Dhamani, Rs. 98 lakh on 1.20 Km Pangali- Dadyal, 105 lakh on 4 km, kalipota to Upper Slay, 77 lakh on 2.30 km Doon to Kangrail, 50.80 lakh on 1.30 km Sheowo to Paddar, 40.32 lakh on 1.50 km Tara Bus stand to Keran, 78 lakh on 1.70 km Shan to Mughal Khad and Rs. 98 lakh on 1.50 km Jhers-Khairy Road to Harizan Basti. Saying that Azad led government have from very beginning focused on strengthening the road network within the state Mr. Kishore said that R&B department is executing numerous road projects in the far-flung and hilly areas so that fruits of development are shared equitably. He said that due to the efforts of Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad liberal funds have been pumped into the state for various development programmes and synergy between various implementing agencies is imperative to translate the vision of a prosperous J&K into a reality. Highlighting the historical decision that gives the present dispensation an edge over previous regimes, the Minister said that creation of new districts, implementation of Roshni scheme to provide land to the landless farmers, opening of several degree colleges and university campus etc are some of the land mark achievements of the government. Later several deputations met the Minister and highlighted their demands. The Minister assured for the early resolution of their demands. Earlier Mr. Jugal Kishore also expressed great shock over the sad demise of Sodhi Senior Cameraman of Daily Excelsior who was shot dead during cross firing between militants and security forces at Samba. He expressed sympathy with the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul. |
