| 69 Kg Poppy straw recovered, narcotic smuggler arrested | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur, May 18: Police recovered 69 Kg of contraband substance from narcotic smugglers at Jakhani, Udhampur.
Based on some reliable information regarding smuggling of poppy straw, a police party of PS Udhampur led by Insp. Vijay Singh Choudhary SHO PS Udhampur under the supervision of Dr.Rohit Chadgal DySP Hqrs. Udhampur and. Rajinder Kumar Katoch Addl. SP Udhampur laid a naka at Jakahni, NHW, Udhampur for frequent checking of vehicles. During naka checking, police party intercepted one truck bearing registration no. PB 11F 8307 for checking. During checking of the said vehicle 69 kg of poppy straw was recovered from the vehicle. The accused driver namely Rajesh Kumar son of Ajmer Singh resident of Haryana was arrested on the spot.
In this connection, case FIR No. 232/19 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Udhampur. Further investigation is going on. |
