Rape accused, accomplices held within eight hours: Police

REASI, May 18: Police on Saturday claimed that it arrested a rape accused and his accomplices within eight hours.
As per police, the victim (name withheld) of Reasi lodged a written complaint at Police Station Reasi stating therein that she used to visit one shop of readymade garments for shopping which was being run by the accused.
Last year one day when she visited the said shop for shopping the said shopkeeper offered her a glass of water which she drank, after which she fell unconscious and when she gained consciousness, she found herself in naked condition in the basement of the said shop. The said person told her that he has clicked her nude photos and threatened her that he will viral her nude photos if she will not act as per his wishes.
Since then, he used to rape her in the basement of his shop many times. Recently on 6-4-2019 he again called the complainant to his shop and raped her in the basement of his shop. He blackmailed her that if she doesn’t marry him he will viral her nude photographs.
On 25/4/2019 he along with his accomplices called her at Shallamar Jammu and kidnapped her in a Maruti car and threatened her to kill her and her family if she doesn’t agree for court marriage.
She said that she solemnised court marriage with the complainant. Thereafter the complainant came to know that the said shopkeeper has made her objectionable/nude photographs viral.
On this case FIR no. 103/2019 U/S 366/376/509/109/RPC 66E IT act was registered at police station Reasi and investigation started.
On this SSP Reasi Nisha Nathyal constituted a special team led by Insp.Ashwani Sharma SHO Reasi and S.I Purshotam sharma I/C P. P Jyotipuram which immediately swung into action and with the help of technical expertise raided many suspected locations in Jammu. Finally the team succeeded to arrest the main accused and others from different locations where they were hiding themselves to evade their arrest
