Early Times Report

Jammu, May 18: J&K Professional Cell Bharitya Janta Party CA Deepak Kapahi has urged the Governor Satya Pal Malik regarding fixing the limit of 10 Kms for preparing E way Bill as per GST Rules on line with GST Rules applicable to Rest of India.
As per memorandum, Kapahi said that on 7th of July, 2017 the GST Act in toto was made applicable in J&K. In GST Rules (Applicable in Rest of India) there is a rule that each movement of goods valuing above Rs.50,000 should be accompanied with E-way Bill subject to condition that the destination of those goods should be more than 10 kms away from the suppliers registered address but in rules of J&K GST Act this condition of 10 kms was omitted. As a result, it is required even for every movement of goods if the value exceeds Rs.50000 irrespective of distance which is creating a lot of hardship to the businessman and has created a chaos in the market, he said.
