International Nurses Day celebrated

Jammu, May 18: International Nurses Day is celebrated worldwide in the memory of Birthday of Florence Nightingale (Nurse Legend), a function to commemorate the International Nursing Day was organized at Acharya Shri Chander Institute of Nursing Education (ASCINE) in the Auditorium of ASCOMS & Hospital amidst great enthusiasm and cheerfulness. Theme of the programme was "NURSES, A VOICE TO LEAD, HEALTH FOR ALL". The programme started with welcome address by Sarla Kumari, Vice Principal of ASCINE, she highlighted the importance of this day, then programme followed by Saraswati Vandana and various other items like Elocution, Rangoli, and Face painting etc. Dr. Pavan Malhotra, Director Principal, ASCOMS & Hospital in the presidential address talked about the importance of Nurses Day and laid stress about importance of Nurses role as hospital functionaries.
He also encouraged nurses to fulfill their duties in responsible manner while performing patient care duties. Winners who took participation in different events (Cultural, Rangoli, Quiz etc.,) awarded by Chief Guest D.K. Batra, Joint Secretary, ASCOMS & Hospital along with Dr. Pavan Malhotra, Director Principal, ASCOMS & Hospital and Sarla Kumari, Vice Principal of ASCINE.
