| Soz being mislead by sycophants: Vakil | | | Early Times Reporter

Drawing his strength from the patronage of Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi ASzad, the Minister for Social Welfare,Abdul Gani Vakil,has dared to confront the Union Minister for Water Resources and PCC President,Prof. Saif-ud-Din Soz, by suggesting that the PCC Chief was being misled by some sycophants around him
This rejoinder is contained in a letter Vakil has sent to Soz.
Soz had asked Vakil not to hold public rallies without informing the local MLAs and office bearers of the District Congress committees. Vakil had played a trick by conveying to Prof. Soz that he(Vakil) was organizing public meetings at different places simply to convey the message of Ms Soniua Gandhi.By doing so Vakil had possibly aimed at keeping Ms Gandhi in good humour so that the PCC Chief was not in a position to initiate any disciplinary action against the Minister.
Party sources said today that Vakil would not dared to send a rejoinder to Soz unless he had the backing of Ghulam Nabi Azad.It is no longer a secret that the relations between the Chief Minister and the PCC Chief are under strain because the former has not relished the way the Union Minister tried to interfere in the Government and party activities beyond what is expected of him.
Already the State unit of the Congress is plagued by dissensions and the factional feud within the organization had assumed such a dimension that one Congress MP Madan Lal Sharma had no hesitation in leveling serious allegations against the Assembly speaker Tara Chand and former PCC Chief,Peerzada Mohd.Syed.
Paryty sources said that the Chief Minister had tried to maintain a cordial relations with Prof. Soz but the latter has started taking Mr Azad for a ride.They said that Prof. Soz was being blamed for running the organization through remote control device as his engagement in Delhi leaves him less time in resolving the problem of dissidence in the state unit of the Congress.They say that prior to the appointment of Prof. Soz as PCC Chief the level of dissidence had been kept under check.( |
