| Thursday last, 10 militants had sneaked in | | Cutters recovered from ultras same as recovered from near IB | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 12 Intelligence inputs have revealed that about 10 militants, equipped with sophisticated weapons and explosives, were able to sneak into the Samba sector from across Regal Post on Thursday. This revelation is being made on the basis of the cutter recovered from the two militants killed by the troops at Kaili Mandi in Samba on Monday. The intelligence agencies are of the opinion that the same cutter had been used for snapping the border fence. If these inpuits are to be believed the claim of the BSF authorities that the jawans had foiled the infiltration and the group of militants had been forced to escape back into the Pakistani territory stand belied. The lid of the pandoras box was lifted when three militants had opened fire on houses in Kaili Mandi area in which four civilians and two Army jawans were killed.,On Monday another militant was killed when he had opened fire on the security forces near residential quarters in the Army cantonment area in Samba. He is believed to have been part of the group that had infiltrated into the Samba sector from across the border on Thursday. Intelligence reports indicated that those three militants killed in the operation by the security forces at Kaili Mandi since yesterday were planning to cross back after they had handed over the rest of their fellow travelers to the concerned guide and agent. These militants had the mission of bringing more groups of militants. These developments have motivated the top BSF authorities to hold a probe in order to ascertain whether the BSF had lowered the guard or were caught napping when the militants infiltrated into Samba sector.Or the BSF had simply covered their mistake by opening fire on the border and later claiming that their retaliatory fire had forced infiltrators to escape back into the Pakistani territory. Another input with the intelligence agency is that on Saturday evening militants had resorted to breezy firing from the area behind the brigade headquarters but the Army did not bother to carry out what is called speculative firing for pinning down the militants. Eyewitness report also have revealed that civilians have spotted movement of about 10 militants in various areas in south of Jammu including Nad,Pulse,Nad and on the Mansar-Dhaar road which calls for massive and sustained search operations. |
