| Fire fighting demonstration at Police Public School | | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | May 12 A demonstration of fire fighting exercise, first aid and preventing measurers was conducted today by the department of Fire services Srinagar, Kashmir at Police Public School Bemina, Srinagar. Mohammad Akbar Dar Assistant Director Fire services Kashmir and Mr. Jamsheed Iqbal Divisional Fire Officer Srinagar were present on the occasion along with a team of Fire Fighters. In the beginning Mr. Mohammad Akbar Dar delivered a lecture to the students of class 9th to 12th about various aspects of firefighting, kinds of fire, first aid and preventive measures etc. He also educated the girls students of the school regarding use of LPG Gas in the kitchen in a safe and secure way. At the end of his lecture, student interacted with the Director.
On this occasion firefighting equipments were laid down for exhibition. Assistant Director Fire Services Mr. Mohammad Akbar explained the functioning of all the equipments to the students. The students and the staff of the school evinced great interest in the firefighting equipments. Some students of the school wore the fire resistant and anti chemical dresses etc to experience first hand the use of the same. An elaborate firefighting exercise was demonstrated to all the students. R K Vohra Principal of the school presented vote of thanks to the officers of department of fire services. He highlighted the necessity of holding such programmes for creating awareness amongst the students for first aid and fire prevention. |
