Early Times Report

Jammu, May 22: Chairman, J&K Grameen Bank (JKGB) Janak Raj Angural during his visit to Branch offices Samba, Swankha More, Jakh and Kartholi; encouraged the branch heads to promote schemes like Self Help Group (SHG), Joint Liability Group (JLG), NRLM, KCC, etc.
In his presence, a SHG named "Jai Gurudev", presided by Santosh Kumari, was financed by branch office Samba to the tune of Rs. 2 lakhs under UMEED scheme of National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM).
Other dignitaries present during the occasion were Vipan Gupta (HoD, FIID), Ajay Bharti (HoD, GAD), K.L. Sharma (HoD, HRDD), Mukul Mehta (Pvt. Secy. To Chairman) and Satdev Singh.
Chairman, JKGB during his visit to these branches impressed upon the Branch Heads to extend the coverage of various SHG, JLGs and disburse quality KCC loans and ensure KCC RUPAY cards are issued to each and every KCC holder. Stressing upon these schemes, he said that these play a vital role in the overall development & upliftment of our rural populace and also increases Bank's credit dispensation to a desirable level.
Rahul Slathia, BH Samba, assured the Chairman that his branch will actively engage with the operational SHGs, JLGs and ensure that quality credit is dispensed after thorough appraisal, thereby, ensuring credit is made available at the right quarters for overall economic development.
At last, Chairman said that upon quality assessment of these credit linked schemes at rural level, there is very less scope of default which is very much there in case of other major advances. So in other words, it is the safest option available with the Bank if properly reviewed at root level and, thereby, must be promoted with full zeal and enthusiasm.
